for my fellow companions in distress, a gentle reminder that:
- aomine daiki encountered his challenger
- aomine daiki had a game he’s been looking forward to enough to go out of his way just to talk to his opponents in a hot spring resort
- aomine daiki got excited just by looking at an opponent before the game even started
- aomine daiki got challenged by a person who’s got only better and better by facing his overwhelming talent
- aomine daiki realized in the middle of said game that this challenger might give only under his best play
- aomine daiki got into the zone for said challenger
- aomine daiki got stopped in the zone for the first time by said challenger
- aomine daiki realized in that moment that he’s got what he’s been looking for
- aomine daiki called said challenger “the best” and acknowledged him as such
- aomine daiki got to play with a smile on his face again
- aomine daiki played a close game for the first time in years
- aomine daiki had been told to stop moping because he still had many many more games to play against said challenger in the future
- aomine daiki attained a real rival
- aomine daiki has found what he’s been looking for
- aomine daiki has found kagami taiga
these things all happened to aomine daiki since the time that d-bag shattered him with overly cruel words of utter bullshit. reminder that aomine daiki is at a happier and healthier place right now, both mentally and physically. added speculation that kagami taiga would most probably get hella scary hella fast if he’d ever get the chance to meet that bitter d-bag who pushed aomine daiki over the edge. notice that i’m not even using said d-bags name for the discussion because it’s not even worth remembering. the only thing we all should remember after this episode is that aomine daiki and kagami taiga are okay and most probably playing some one-on-one and bantering themselves into a stupor.
